979 feet of 96" O. D. Permalok Steel Casing
607 feet of 100" O. D. Permalok Steel Casing

  The Problem:
Installing a 25 km section of pipe to move water from the Alafia River to the new regional surface water treatment plant for Tampa Bay Water. Major concerns were adverse tunneling conditions and grueling geology, including limestone, clay and sand.

The Solution:
With the assistance of Permalok’s 86" O. D. steel pipe sections, E.J.M. Pipe Services was able to complete the project on time in August 2002. Today, the South-Central Hillsborough Intertie is an essential element of Tampa Bay Water’s new, interconnected water system.
