Northeast Remsco completed the $2.7 million dollar project in early May. Crews plan to complete final water main connections after the Labor day weekend.
The new pipeline was designed to serve as a water transmission main to replace the existing line inside the culvert that had become exposed. The microtunneling portion of the project was performed with a Herrenknecht AVN 1200 to install the 700 feet of Permalok steel casing pipe in one drive. Crews tunneled through soft silt and clay 3 feet below the surface with 25 feet of water under multiple sets of railroad tracks.
